Feeding the Ducks??

I took the kids to the park the other day. It was a beautiful day, we couldn't ask for better weather. The park is perfect for my kids...lots of space to run, toys to place on, and lots and lots of ducks and geese to feed! Kenna has an absolute infatuation with birds...not sure why or where it came from, but she will spot one anywhere! These ducks literally follow you from the moment you get out of the car, which is great for the kids, they absolutely love it!

Now the ducks are all pretty tolerant, but they can get scared, so we tried to walk slowly around them. As you can see from the pictures, Jaxson is standing there feeding the ducks ever so quietly, and if you look closely, you'll see Kenna in the backround chasing them. I should mention, when Kenna gets excited, especially about birds, she screams...or maybe it's more of a squeal! Most birds, okay no bird that I have seen, have ever enjoyed loud noises, so the ducks all ran! Kenna did a pretty good job of keeping up with them, and I think at one point she even tried to pick one up, but it was a little faster than she was.
Once we got down to the water, Kenna thought she could walk in the water and feed them like that. So I kept pretty busy keeping her dry! These ducks didn't get as much food as the ones on the grass because Kenna only fed them when her mouth was full. It was like "three for me, one for you". I think she ate more than the ducks! Jaxson and Kenna also really like holding the bread out for the ducks to take from your hand. I think I will have to get a loaf of bread for each kid next time since sharing a half a loaf between the kids and the ducks didn't go too far!
They played on the toys and made some new friends so all in all, it was a good day, and the kids were worn out, which was my initial goal, but then again, so was I!
