Weekend in Boise

The kids and I had a weekend in Boise to visit Aunt Shell. The agenda included the zoo, a pumpkin patch, the Birds of Prey Museum, and a few other attractions. The plan was to have nothing but blissful fun. So, the constant crying, the freezing cold, the busy toddler, the stressed out mom, and the overwhelmed aunt put a slight hitch in our "bliss". We made it through the weekend, though we now have a few less hairs on our heads...and the ones that are still there....well, they are a nice shade of gray!
When things were good, we had a great time, but when things were bad....they escalated into chaos at an amazing rate of speed. We got to feed a Zebra at a petting zoo and watch a Falcon catch a quail. We had a minor snow storm and enjoyed some gourmet cupcakes. The best part was a fun day on a nature walk and playing at the park. I have since learned that a 4 year old daddy's boy and a 17 month old VERY busy toddler, are not a good match for an airplane ride at ungodly hours with a mom that needs an extra set of arms. I made it through the weekend and now am finding out how true it is that you need a vacation from your vacation. I think next time......I might do things a little differently!
